Primary School Rogatec in Slovenia is a small primary school with two branch schools. It is the only school in the Rogatec municipality. It is a public school and they have 256 students who are 6-14 years old and are taught by 32 teachers. Rogatec is a small town with a rich natural and cultural heritage, which lies in the east of Slovenia very close to the border of their neighbour country Croatia. The school is involved in several school, local, national and international projects, such as Eco School, European Village, Europe at school, Children’s parliament, Art Colony, National Reading Month, Reading Mountains Festival and many more. Special attention has been devoted to individual approach to pupils, preserving natural and cultural heritage, evolving sports activities, and taking care of Slovenian and foreign languages and taking care of the environment.
The students are mostly from Slovenia but some are from Croatia, Bosnia Hercegovina, Tunisia and Slovakia. They emphasize their intercultural and social values. They teach their students about their culture and also about other cultures all around the world. Their students are taught how to work together, learn from each other and thus how to become more confident. They want to develop their cooperation skills and also emotional intelligence.
